I imagined redoing my blog this new year, updating the appearance and giving it a “make over.” Easier said than done. Obviously I am not a web-designer because I don’t know a widget from a plug-in. So, I am learning; I have invested a great deal of time and frustration on updating this blog, and I really cannot say that I am thrilled with the results.
I am not interested in making money or promoting my business, so many great assets on Word Press are not helpful to me. My intentions are more literary in nature, teaching, learning, writing and thinking. So please forgive me if things are not perfect yet. My love-affair with technology is on the rocks…..
Sometimes I feel quite out of touch with the www. world and in digital advancements. I still feel good about reading a real book and using my yellow highlighter to remind me of great things I read on paper. Oh, I have nothing against reading things on-line or reading a Kindle story, but it still feels awkward. One of the things I learned is that there is so much out there!! Millions (it looks like) of authors, blogs, pod-casts, videos — it is overwhelming. What made me think I could really join this crowd?
In addition to reading and writing, I love to take and share photos of the amazing world I live in. Again, there are amazing photos on-line of everything that you can think of from food to frozen tundra. I even saw some photos, probably enhanced or created digitally, that I could not think of.
With humility, I will continue to learn, to grow, to think and write on this blog. I will add some photo images when appropriate. Onward and upward, as they say in the UK.
What do you think about technology? How is your relationship with your computer, and/or phone, and/or tablet?? Is anyone really good at editing Word Press and would like to give me some advice?
Finally, I just want to say thank you to those of you who read my blog. I really like to think that someone out there is actually reading this. If you have time, please take a moment to reply or respond to me. I appreciate that, too.
Shalom.
